Challenge
A training and coaching organisation was looking for ways to improve their processes to be more responsive to customers’ needs. The proposed solution included restructuring the organisation as well as introducing a new ERP tool. The team tasked with these changes was experiencing difficulties implementing their mandate due to a variety of factors, including reduced capacity as a result of several key employee departures.
Further complicating matters, a new manager was brought in once the initiative was already well underway. Because the team was already resistant to change, disengaged, and under-resourced, the manager faced significant challenges carrying out their mandate. Despite multiple attempts at mediation, the manager found the team uncooperative and unmotivated. Recognising that the people side of the initiative was the barrier, Prosci was tasked to thoroughly assess the situation and provide an approach for how to move forward.

Solution
- Conduct global audit of the organisation’s current state
- Seek transparent feedback
- Facilitate workshops to provide training
Global Audit
Prosci conducted a global audit based on individual interviews with team members, leadership, and other stakeholders to better understand the organisation’s current state. Understanding the big picture view was foundational to moving forward with a tailored solution.
Improved Communication
Based on transparent feedback, improved communication was identified as a key area of opportunity. The organisation implemented weekly meetings, along with a more streamlined approach to sharing information to help raise awareness of various initiatives.
Tailored Training
Prosci delivered two targeted training workshops—one on team cohesion and alignment for the direct team in charge of the initiatives and another for an audience of broader stakeholders focused on general collaboration principles. Both workshops helped create alignment on common goals and set clear expectations for how to move forward.
Results
An External Perspective
By engaging Prosci as an external consultant, team members felt more comfortable to share feedback openly and honestly. Additionally, 90-95% of individuals identified as willing to cooperate, allowing the organisation to set new objectives with minimal pushback.
Improved Team Dynamic
High employee turnover and the newly introduced ERP system had led to a feeling of chaos and instability. By providing workshops and training, Prosci created the groundwork for individuals to come together and feel more comfortable collaborating as they gained clarity on expectations.
